Delete Your Account

FaithFeed — Effective September 20, 2026

You can delete your FaithFeed account and the content you created at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need to explain why.

Deleting from the app

Open FaithFeed and go to the Profile tab.
Open Settings.
Scroll to Danger zone at the bottom.
Choose Delete my account and confirm.

For your security, Firebase requires a recent sign-in before it will delete an account. If you have been signed in for a while, the app will ask you to sign out and sign back in first, then try again.

What is deleted

Deleting your account removes:

Your account itself, and your sign-in credentials.
Your profile, including display name and profile photo reference.
Your feed posts and prayer requests.
Your Bible verse annotations and the replies attached to them.
Your saved studies, bookmarks and bookmark categories.
Your friends list and any pending friend requests, sent or received.

Your content is deleted before your credentials are, so that if anything fails partway the account still works and you can try again. A failure in the other order would leave your content stranded with no one able to remove it.

What is kept, and why

A small amount of data outlives the account on purpose. We would rather say so here than imply a cleaner wipe than actually happens:

Moderation reports. If you reported someone, or someone reported content of yours, that report is kept so the review is not erased by the account going away. Deleting an account is not a way to clear a pending report.
Crisis safety records. When the study partner detects a crisis indicator it records only a category and a timestamp — never your message. These are retained as safety records.
Comments you left on other people's posts. These stay, under the name you wrote them with. They sit inside someone else's conversation, and removing them would leave replies answering nothing. If you want yours taken down, email us and we will remove them by hand.
Likes and prayers you gave to other people's content. Counts only — who they came from is not shown to anyone after your account is gone.
Images you uploaded. Deleting your account removes the posts that referenced them. If you want the underlying image files removed as well, email us and we will do it by hand.
Aggregated, non-identifiable usage data, which is not linked back to you and cannot be used to identify you.

Timing

Deletion happens immediately when you confirm it in the app. It is not a scheduled or reversible request — once it completes, your content is gone and we cannot restore it. Back up anything you want to keep before you start.

If you cannot use the app

If you have lost access to your account and cannot sign in to delete it yourself, email us from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. We may ask you to confirm details on the account before doing so, to make sure the request is coming from its owner.
