Privacy Policy

FaithFeed — Effective September 20, 2026

FaithFeed is a Bible study and Christian community app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

What we collect

When you create an account and use FaithFeed, we collect:

Account information — your email address, display name, and optionally a profile photo.
Content you create — feed posts, prayer requests, and Bible verse annotations and replies.
Study data — which verses you have saved, which words you have opened, and whether commentary was expanded. This is used to restore your workspace when you return to a verse.
Bookmarks and hidden posts — posts you have saved or chosen not to see.
Reports — if you report a post, the report and the reported content are stored so we can review it.

We do not store your conversations with Ezra, our AI study partner. Your message is sent to our server, used to generate a response, and not written to your account or anywhere else. If the crisis screen detects a risk indicator, we record only the category and a timestamp — never what you wrote.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or payment information.

How we use your data

To operate the app — serving your feed, prayers, Bible content, and study partner responses.
To provide AI-assisted Bible study through Ezra, our study partner. Your messages are sent to our server and used to generate a response. They are screened for crisis indicators before any AI model sees them; if a crisis is detected, only the category is logged — not your message.
To deliver email notifications to administrators when reports are filed.
To improve the app through aggregated, non-identifiable usage patterns.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-party services

FaithFeed is built on Google Firebase, which provides authentication, database, storage, and server functions. Your data is stored in Firebase under Google's security and privacy standards. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

AI-assisted features (Ezra, verse commentary, word study) use OpenAI's API. Queries sent to OpenAI are subject to OpenAI's usage policies. We do not send identifying information alongside these queries.

Data retention

Your content remains in the app as long as your account exists. You can delete individual posts, prayers, and annotations within the app.

You can delete your whole account from inside the app, under Profile → Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account. You do not need to contact us first. What is removed, and the small amount that is deliberately kept, is set out on our account deletion page.

Children's privacy

FaithFeed is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
